Artist’s Journal

Creation of a visual and narrative journal for youth aged 10 to 14. In a condensed format of two half-days of three hours each, this immersive workshop invites each participant to imagine and compose their own artist’s journal, blending drawing, collage, creative writing and visual composition. The journal becomes an intimate space to explore a personal universe, tell stories, and experiment with mixed media techniques.

The workshop encourages the discovery of the artist’s journal as a tool for visual and narrative expression, stimulates creativity through the combination of various techniques and materials, and fosters confidence in each participant’s personal universe. It also offers an opportunity to explore layout, composition and visual rhythm, and to experiment with writing in relation to images, completing a full artistic process — from concept to finished object.

On the first day, participants are introduced to inspiring examples of artist’s journals and guided to define a theme or personal intention. They select materials and begin composing their first pages, using drawing, collage, backgrounds and textures. On the second day, the journals are enriched through the integration of text, images and decorative elements, aiming for visual and narrative coherence. The workshop concludes with a collective sharing circle.

All materials are provided, including high-quality blank journals, creative papers, magazines, fabrics, inks, pencils, paints, glue, scissors and natural or recycled elements. Materials are adapted to the age group and safe to use. Each participant leaves with a completed and unique artist’s journal.

The workshop is led by Madame Qu.Antique – Nadia Besomi, multidisciplinary artist (tattooing, visual creation, performance art) with an intuitive, symbolic and inclusive approach, and over twenty years of experience in artistic creation.

Fee for the full program (two half-days, six hours total) including materials: €400 (VAT included). Ideal group size: 8 to 10 participants (maximum 12). Travel expenses beyond 30 km: €0.50/km. Billing via micro-entreprise. The price covers preparation, facilitation, materials and the finalization of each participant’s work.

This workshop is suitable for youth and cultural centers, libraries, middle schools, artistic or cultural festivals, or special events with educational or symbolic purposes.

What makes this workshop unique is the absence of format constraints — each journal reflects a singular universe. It offers a multisensory experience combining images, words and textures, resulting in a tangible object to take home: a personal memory of the creative journey, nurtured in a safe and supportive space.

📍 A gentle note:
Madame Qu.Antique is not a permanent physical space, but a living, moving presence.
It appears where creation finds fertile ground — in public venues, partner structures, or chosen contexts.
